Version Dropdown & More

Versioning, social icons, TOC, and footer credit.

Version Dropdown

For projects maintaining multiple documentation versions, WPDocs Premium shows a version switcher in the navbar.

Setup

  1. Go to WPDocs → Settings → Header
  2. Under “Version Dropdown”, add entries: label (e.g., “v2.0”) and slug (e.g., “v2-0”)
  3. Go to WPDocs → Versions and create matching taxonomy terms
  4. Tag doc pages with the appropriate version(s)

The sidebar automatically filters to show only sections/pages matching the selected version.

Social Icons

Add up to any number of social icons to the navbar. Supported platforms:

  • GitHub
  • Twitter / X
  • Facebook
  • Discord
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn

Configure under Settings → Header → Social Icons. Each icon needs a type (dropdown), URL, and optional label.

Table of Contents

The “On this page” sticky sidebar automatically generates from your content’s H2 and H3 headings. As you scroll, the current section highlights in real-time using the IntersectionObserver API.

Enable/disable under Settings → Content → Table of Contents.

Footer Credit Removal

Free version shows “Powered by for-wordpress.org” in the footer. Premium users can hide this under Settings → Footer → Remove Credit.
